AI Photogrammetry: Explore the feature using sample video

We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to explore the AI Photogrammetry feature in a controlled trial environment. This initiative allows you to become familiar with the user interface, test various settings, and better understand the feature’s capabilities before applying it to your own data.

Important:
If certain features are not functioning as expected, please ensure that your system meets the GPU requirements

Minimum Requirements:
– NVidia GPU with Turing architecture or newer (CUDA Compute Capability ≥ 7.5)
At least 6 GB of dedicated GPU memory

Recommended Configuration:
– NVidia GPU with Ampere architecture or newer (CUDA Compute Capability ≥ 7.5)
At least 8 GB of dedicated GPU memory

Additionally, please ensure that the latest GPU drivers are installed on your system. For guidance on verifying and updating your drivers, please refer to the official NVIDIA resource

1. Download Sample Video

To facilitate your evaluation, we have prepared a set of pre-recorded sample videos. This example follows recommended capture techniques and are ideal for initial testing.

Please download the samples of video (CLICK)

Important: Please ensure the videos are fully downloaded to your local system prior to initiating any processing. Partial or streamed files may result in suboptimal performance.

2. Explore Photogrammetry

Once the videos are downloaded, open Artec Studio and begin working with the AI Photogrammetry tool. For detailed guidance, please refer to the AI Photogrammetry Quick Start Guide, which provides step-by-step instructions and best practices for effective use.

The trial project is designed for free exploration, so do not hesitate to experiment and discover all its possibilities. Please contact Support Team should you have any questions or issues.

3. Using printed scale cross for Enhanced Accuracy

To ensure precise reconstruction and proper scaling, it is recommended to incorporate a scale cross into your project. Please find a printed version The file names are ASC A4.pdf (download) for Europe and ASC US Letter.pdf (download) for the USA.

Or these files are available as a PDF document at:
C:\Program Files\Artec\Artec Studio [version]

Important: When printing the scale cross, please ensure your printer settings are configured to print at 100% scale (actual size). Any scaling adjustments may affect measurement accuracy.

How to Create a Scale Cross in Artec Studio

1. Define the IDs of the two pairs of targets, the distance between them (in millimeters) in each pair, and the name of the scale bar.

Note that the IDs must be unique and fall within the range of 1 to 516.

2. Finally, click the Create reference button.

The newly created scale cross will appear in the list of all references on the left.

Important: The scale reference should be visible in as many images or frames as possible, ideally, in every one used for reconstruction.

Once you have reviewed the manual and tested the sample videos, we encourage you to:

  • Record and process your own videos or photosets.
  • Incorporate a printed scale cross in your scenes to enhance reconstruction accuracy.
  • Continue experimenting with settings and techniques to gain a deeper understanding of the tool’s capabilities.

In case you experience any issues with your Artec 3D scanner or require technical assistance with your device or Artec Studio, in the first instance please contact your local Artec dealer/distributor directly. You can also contact the Artec Support Team by clicking on "Submit a request" button on the bottom right part of the screen or by emailing support@artec3d.com
